"My First Lag B’Omer Experience"
May 6, 2007
"This is the first Lag B’Omer experience in my life" said Rose Chiporuka, one of the six hundred participants at the Lag B’Omer fair in Brighton Beach. Lag B’Omer is the celebration honoring the 3rd century Talmudic mystic Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, one of the greatest masters of Kabbalah.
It was a fun time for all the attendees enjoying the activities, rides and shows. Dozens of men put on Tefillin and hundreds received Jewish literature.
Rabbi Zushe Winner called on all the assembled to unite with the millions of Jews who were gathered throughout the world celebrating Lag B’Omer and expressing their support for Israel.
Barry Resnick, vice president of S.B.J.C invited all to join the synagogue.
This wonderful outreach event was organized by Reb. Esther Winner and coordinated by Sara Winner. The Lag B’Omer fair was sponsored by Chabad Lubavitch of West Brighton Beach and Seabreeze Jewish Center.
