Chanukah on Ice

Children and adults enjoyed an evening of celebration at the aviator ice skating rink on the 6th night of Chanukah.

Still recovering from Sandy and its aftermath, the staff at Chabad Neshama managed to pull off its annual Chanukah event with even greater success. Together with its classic holiday themed booths, and moon bounce rides, kids had the thrill of going rock climbing and Bungee jumping.  They then headed off to the ice, where a six foot Menorah stood at the center of the rink- giving it the Chanukah spirit.

The honors of the Menorah were given out by Rabbi Moishe Winner, director of Chabad Neshama, to those who made the event possible.

“Hurricane Sandy devastated residents and business owners of our community. The Synagogue is still completely out of operation but we can learn from the lights and spirit of Chanukah that we can fight and prevail through any hardships,” said Rabbi Moishe.

The program came to a close with Chanukah doughnuts along with Jewish music and dancing.
